Millennium Dance Complex Celebrates the 30th Anniversary
LOS ANGELES –Ann Marie, Millennium Dance Complex's CEO, announced that the 30th Anniversary Celebration would begin on 9 p.m. PDT Wednesday, Sept. 1, in Avalon Hollywood, 1735 Vine St., Los Angeles, CA 90028.
"I usually say, love all, serve all, dance more. It is also what this carnival wants to convey to the public. We've been suffering panic and helplessness all year long, but we are still full of love and cheerfulness. I have gotten to know the power of dance," said Marie. After spending a year socially distanced during the pandemic, MDC is re-energized and ready to provide a platform for the dance community.
This year's "Choreographers Ball" Carnival was supervised by Jin Lee, MDC's current operations director. This activity will feature works by Yanis Marshall, Brain Friedman, Andrew Winghart and the dance teams from their branch studios. Each group prepared for more than one month, and viewing would be fascinating.
The carnival begins at 9 p.m. PDT on Sept. 1, with drinks and snacks provided by MDC. The show will start at 10 p.m. with an after-party to follow at 1 a.m. The primary purpose of this carnival is to expose students to performance, let them network with top dancers, to everything they might need to achieve their dance goals. For MDC, this activity is helping people to be who they are, embrace their uniqueness and enjoy the dance.
MDC invites its members, not only staff but students, to recognize all they have achieved together over the years they spent with MDC and to look forward to the opportunities ahead with the more exciting events MDC has.
"When I prepared for this carnival, I felt excited. That signal shows the world: we are back. I hope that dancing gives students happiness and a positive and optimistic outlook on life. Even if it is an illness, a temporary failure, or any other blow, as long as we are together, appreciate ourselves and bloom through dancing, the problem is no longer scary but becomes the spice of life," said Lee.
