Millennium Dance Complex celebrates its 30th anniversary-Sept. 1, 2021

 

Millennium Dance Complex is a dance company that produces top-quality dancing classes for our customers in Los Angeles. MDC’s success has stemmed from staying connected to its loyal customer base, ensuring they are always placed first in its decision-making processes. With a variety of dance class options available, customers have benefited from those diversified, professional and creative classes.

 

Over the years, MDC’s popular training program and masterclasses have grown in popularity, earning multiple awards, with most customers stating this studio greatly improved their professional dancing skills thanks to its powerful faculty. MDC was initially developed as a standalone small studio but has since expanded into 6 fully equipped studios, serving classes, rehearsals, casting and auditioning needs.

 

Millennium was created by Ann Marie in Los Angeles on January 6, 1992, with ‘no money down’, hardly any staff and the purchase of eight boomboxes from the drugstore, the future Millennium was born. She decided to co-mingle the classic dance arts with this new urban, movement. It was this fresh expression for the next generation of dance. A raw force that would come to break across all pre-established boundaries and unite cultures around the world.

 

After nearly 30 years develop, MDC has grown exponentially, with 12 studios currently open in four states. Millennium Staff is dedicated to maintaining an uplifting, supportive and motivating environment in which to experience the joyous and transformational magic that is dance.

 

Accomplishments

They won Best Dance Studio, at the first Hip Hop Dance Awards. The biggest pop stars in the world flooded in to take classes, scout talent and rehearse for upcoming tours and videos. Such as Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and In Sync, the list went on and on.

 

Brilliant faculties include A’Drey Vinogradov, Alec Clawson, Brinn Nicole, Brooklyn Jai, etc. A’Drey’s work “Balance” had been chosen from over 200 submissions as one of the top 20 finalists for the prestigious Capezio A.C.E. Awards (Award for Choreographic Excellence). Nika has worked on major projects with Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, Justin Bieber, Ne-Yo, Jason DeRulo and many more. She has also been featured in several high-profile award shows, such as the MTV Video Music Awards, the Billboard Music Awards and the American Music Awards.

 

Dance specials, television segments and entertainment television came to Millennium to film or cast their projects. A new MTV series, “Becoming,” was filmed with the studio as its backdrop. Producer/choreographer Robin Antin rehearsed “Becoming” in one studio and her pet project, the Pussycat Dolls, in another studio down the hall.

 

Michael Jackson, who held insider auditions for his tours and videos at Millennium, also came to watch classes in disguise. Shortly after his passing, Millennium, along with Clear Channel and AEG, co-sponsored the L.A. segment of a global event to break the record for the most people dancing Thriller. People from all backgrounds came to learn the choreography and honor Michael’s life; dancers and non-dancers, parents and children, it was a joyous experience. The event was a success. A record-breaking 232,000 people danced together worldwide via global simulcast.

 

Millennium Dance Complex celebrates 30th year Anniversary

California’s leading multicultural contemporary dance studio is celebrating its 30th anniversary on Sept. 1, in Avalon Hollywood 1735 Vine St., Los Angeles, CA 90028. This year’s “Choreographers Ball” Carnival will feature works by shows Yanis Marshall, Brain Friedman, Andrew Winghart and the dance teams from their branch studios.

 

The carnival begins at 9 p.m., guests can drink with their friends and enjoy some snacks we prepared. Includes a dance show that begins at 10 p.m. and an after party that beings at 1 a.m.. The main purpose of this carnival is to expose students to performance, let students network with top dancers, to provide an opportunity they might need to achieve their dance goals. Meanwhile, this activity will expand the complex reputation and influence. This community will also serve to release pressure built over the past year during the pandemic.

 

Millennium invites its members not only staff but students to recognize all that they have achieved together over the years they spend with Millennium and to look forward to the opportunities that lay ahead with more and more exciting events Millennium has.
