Talking points:
1. Hey! Good afternoon, everyone; it’s your old pal Rongzhen, the lead barista in Café Cuse.
2. As a person engaged in the service industry, I support this regulation. I don’t allow myself to be infected with the virus to serve you.
3. I have been working in Café Cuse for five years. All of you exist for me as a family member; I want to be responsible for your health.
4. We must contact many people every day. We are scared of the virus.
5. I understand customers who are not vaccinated; it is your right. I am happy to serve you too.
6. For customers who have vaccine proof, you can rest assured, take off your mask and enjoy the coffee I made for you indoors.
7. I think indoor ambient air cannot circulate freely, which increases the chance of infection.
8. All the members of Café Cuse love our customers; it is just because we want everyone to stay in a safer place
Q&A
1. What do you expect from customers arriving after this regulation is issued?
In this community, we all know each other well, and I hope everyone can understand and support each other. Because in the face of the epidemic, we can only tide over the difficulties together when we support each other. I expect everyone who comes to Café Cuse can follow the regulation; everyone can cooperate with our work to avoid conflicts due to this matter.
2. What will you do if someone doesn’t cooperate?
I will try my best to reassure the customer who feels dissatisfied. Because I am the person who stays at Café Cuse every day, I might be the first person to talk with them. I will take them to our staff room or go outside because I do not want to bother other customers. Maybe I can make a unique coffee for them called “everyone.” I want them to understand that we care about them and respect and love every client. I think they feel they are being ignored and excluded. When I tell them we care about them, they will understand us too. If it still does not work, I will think about calling the police to deal with that because I want to be responsible for Café Cuse, for other clients, and myself.
3. Does this new regulation have any changes and effects on your work?
Of course, we must ensure every customer who comes in has proof of vaccination and explain this regulation to people who do not know or reach the first time.
After this regulation, I strictly follow the rules and set an example. I wear the mask all the time and wash my hands frequently. I sterilize my coffee set every day. I fixed cups and tableware and cleaned them every time. I want to show my customers that we take it seriously and will try our best to ensure they stay in a safer place.
4. What do you think of this regulation?
In my speech, I said I support this regulation. I think it is a good move for us. Sometimes we do not realize how serious the problem is. I did not know this pandemic would last for such a long time and even worse. What I can do is protect myself not infected with Covid-19 and not spread the virus. So I think it is a good move and will follow the regulation until the pandemic.
5. You said you feared the covid-19; how did you overcome it?
Even though I am a little bit worried about covid-19, life continues. I need to work. It is not only for money. I love my job. It makes me feel satisfied. So even though I am scared, I still come and do daily work. The only thing I could do was check everybody’s vaccination proof and protect everyone in the room.
